I'm slowly painting my way through James Prosek's "Trout: An Illustrated History."
Here is my most recent effort from mu project I've dubbed "Painting Through Prosek."
This is the Lake Hazen Char, the northernmost dwelling member of the trout family. Prosek strategically placed Ursa Major (the Big Dipper) with the body's design. Quite a bit of variation in the color of the body as well as in the spots. Per usual, my acrylic colors are more intense than Prosek's watercolor.
** as I am posting this on my phone, I don't know if the text will be first or if the pictures will be first. Also, the spliced together shot is the Instagram effort.
