New Video: Rush to the Driftless

I traveled back to the homeland for a week of family and friends. Fly rod and tenkara in tote, my dad and I met up with the Winona Fly Factory (winonaflyfactory.com) fisherman and we explored some of what the Driftless area has to offer for trout fishing. The tenkara rod ended up being a great option for my dad, someone who is pretty new to fly fishing. He took to it well. It was a long time on the water, but we had a great weekend fishing, finding morel mushrooms, and hanging out at the barn.

Enjoy,

  1. So cool...You don't realize how much you miss a place until you've been away from it for a while. I'm missing the driftless and hope to get back this summer.

Great video, and thanks for the reminder of what a special place that is.

    1. loud and proud, those toms :) the other guys at the barn, my brother included, were turkey hunting that weekend, but the birds were shy and allusive.

Great video, professional done---I like the fact you are using Vimeo, instead of UTube. With Utube I have trouble getting the video to full screen. With Vimeo you have that option and it gives all videos a more professtional look, not to mention full screen on the computer. Those were some nice browns. Thank for sharing

    1. glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the compliments. I think the biggest thing I notice about a quality looking video is steady camerawork. With small cameras like phones and gopros, it is hard to do, but I'm working at it. Thanks again for your kind words :)

    1. It is awe awesome spot and the main stream we fished just blew me away. I couldn't believe how much quality water there was and I didn't even get to it all :) Magee does some awesome photography and really does the driftless justice. Good luck finding the shrooms. That guy was a random lonley mushroom about 30 feet form a dead elm. We found a few more though. They are amazing.
