Last night I found a Martin "Tuffy" model 3-017: 8wt for $20. It looks like it has never been used. Honestly, practically mint condition. Now, it may not be worth even $20. If so, great! I'll feel less guilty using such a well preserved rod.
Here are a few close-ups of the important parts. I've never used fiberglass. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? Is there anything I should do to touch it up? Cement the eyelet threading? I have no idea.
And here are a couple poppers I tried to tie. The bodies are made of synthetic wine corks. There is some streamer hair, deer tail (thanks Grandpa for picking up that road kill), and some flash in there as well. I used Bic permanent markers to color the heads.
